Kate Linkous
John Swick has been dancing and performing for over 40 years in
many different styles. He has studied ballet, jazz, tap, flamenco, and
theatre as well as ballroom.  Swick has over eight national dance titles
to his credit, and has trained four United States champions.  On the
faculty of Oklahoma City University's School of Dance, he is also a
certified national-level judge, chairman of judges, scrutineer and
examiner.  Professional organization memberships include: NDCA
(National Dance Council of America), North American Dance
Teacher's Association, International Dance Council, Actor's Equity
Association, Screen Actors Guild, and American Federation of Radio
and Television Artists.
David Hyer and Shelby Rothell are professional ballroom dancers
competing in American Smooth within the National Dance Council of
America's sanctioned events.  They have won titles at the Holiday
Dance Classic in Las Vegas, the Dancer's Cup Grand Ball, California
Open, St. Louis Star Ball and Heart of America DanceSport
Championships. Hyer and Rothell were ranked fourth at the United
States Rising Star National Championships, and were semi-finalists in
the World Professional American Smooth Championship.  When not
competing, Hyer and Rothell have been guest performers for the
Kaleidoscope Dancers Company, Oklahoma Philharmonic, Oklahoma Arts
Institute, Oklahoma City Museum of Art, Oklahoma Community Dance
Alliance, and Joie De Vie.  They have also served as guest faculty at
the American College Dance Festival, Oklahoma Summer Arts
Institute, University of Central Oklahoma, and surrounding regional
studios and public schools.  They also teach in the Oklahoma City area
under the name Competitive Edge.
Beth Emerson
Beth Emerson has been dancing and teaching for over 15 years. Beth is
a certified Master dancer and Master Judge for the UCWDC dance
circuit. She is also currently the Vice President of Rules for the UCWDC
dance circuit. Beth moved to Oklahoma City from St. Louis 6 years ago
where she lived and was the director of the St. Louis Gateway Dance
Festival. Beth has relocated her UCWDC worlds qualifying dance event
to Oklahoma City and has renamed it the "Oklahoma Dance Rush".
Beth Has been teaching at Harpe's Dance studio for the past 6 years.
She teaches Ballroom, Latin, Swing and Country dancing. Beth also
teaches the Beginning Ballroom group classes and the Beginning and
Intermediate West coast Swing group classes at Harpe's.

Kate Linkous is a professional ballroom and Latin dance competitor and
instructor. She began dancing at the age of eight. Linkous spent several
years studying and performing as a jazz dancer, as well as performing
in drama and musical productions. She then had the opportunity to
study ballroom dance, and she has been teaching and competing in
ballroom dance for over a decade. She has worked as a ballroom
professional in Washington, D.C. and Las Vegas. Linkous is currently
located in Oklahoma City.
